The Interaction Web
Database is a cooperative effort of scientists interested in the study
of species interactions. Users are at
universities and research institutions in over thirty countries all
over the world. Many members have been involved in field projects that
have produced many of the datasets available at the web site.
The database is currently managed by Paulo R. Guimarães
(São Paulo, Brazil), Rafael L. Galdini Raimundo (São
Paulo, Brazil) and Luciano Cagnolo (Cordoba, Argentina). Past
coordinators were Diego Vázquez (Mendoza, Argentina) and Carlos
Melián (Santa Barbara, USA). The IWDB was originally created by
Diego Vázquez, Jeremy Goldberg and Rupesh Naik in September 2003.
The goal of the Interaction Web Database is to help disseminate
ecological data on species interactions to be used for scientific
purposes. If you have a dataset that you think could be included in the
database, please send us an e-mail, and we'll send you the necessary
information. In the future we plan to have an online interface for data
entry, so members can enter and edit their data directly.
